London promoter Need2Soul brought the world famous all-out party of Body & Soul to London for an eight-hour day to remember. The trio of renowned DJs delivered a no-holds-barred event with the addition of an exceptional performance by the Queen of Soul Jazz and Dance, Jocelyn Brown.

Founded in 1996 Body & Soul is a collaboration between three legends of the world party scene, Danny Krivit, Joaquin ‘Joe’ Claussell and François K and it’s an opportunity to let go, dance and celebrate the most vibrant energy that music gives us. The famous Body & Soul Sunday afternoon union has been one of New York’s most revered weekly parties and it’s seen success all over the world.

This year the Body & Soul landed in Brixton, at the Electric, to be welcomed by an excited crowd who kept on dancing for the whole show like there was no tomorrow. The three DJs delivered an exceptional selection of warm house music and trance-inducting tribal rhythms for over 4 hours before Francois K introduced on stage one of the most beautiful voices of the Soul scene, Jocelyn Brown. It was time for the queen to shine and the audience went mental driven by her voice, her energy and her temper. She performed crowd favourite classics “Somebody Else’s Guy” and ‘Always There” plus some covers like “Ain’t no mountain (high enough)” and “Enough is enough”.

Brown’s energy and uniquely powerful voice represented the topic moment of a perfect night that after her performance went on with more quality house music by the three DJs.
At the end of the night we felt completely knocked, but happy, only wishing that Need2Soul will keep up the tradition of such a special event, which not only brings house music’s cream of the crop, but also showcases some of soul music’s most iconic singers.
