Attending Claire’s UK debut show was one of those evenings when you realize you are witnessing something you’ll remember when you’ll see them on top of the charts. The five-piece German band from Munich was born 2 years ago, when Nepomuk, Messel and Flo – who at that time were working together in a studio – joined forces with drummer Fridl and charismatic singer Josie. Success arrived fast in their country and now they’re headed to conquering the rest of the world… chance is they will quite soon.

Their music clearly finds its roots in 80s synth pop, but with a fresh personality that detaches the band from today’s anonymous plastic pop and puts them in the olympus of future talented pop-stars.
After touring with the likes of Chvrches, Capital Cities and Bastille and playing 2013 CMJ in New York, they landed in London for a 3-day mini UK tour between January 21-23. Their first ever live show in London exceeded expectations: Claire sound even better live. Their energy on stage is engaging, irresistible, unexpectedly overwhelming. The stage barely fits the incredible amount of instruments, synths and computers, and that’s what probably makes their show so powerful. Mixing old style synths, electric guitars, drums (lots of drums) and keyboards with Josie’s amazing vocals and incredible stage presence turn the gig into an experience that is musically satisfying and great to dance to. We attended their first two live shows in a row and assure you we couldn’t have enough of them.
The key to Claire’s fated (we bet on it) worldwide success? Their ability to engage two very different types of public during their live shows: acoustic instruments lovers and electronic music fans will both enjoy it, we promise that.
