John Legend Live @ the iTunes Festival

John Legend live at Itunes Festival

Score: 8/10

John Legend is that kind of artist who makes his music and talent speak for him… just a piano, an incredible vocal presence and the ability to entertain the public without having to shove special effects, boobs or muscles. He might be easily considered the new Stevie Wonder. It’s almost impossible to believe that the quality of his music is swimming undisturbed in the dark waters of today’s mainstream, hadn’t it been that he presented his new album at this year edition of the iTunes Festival, which obviously represents the emblem of the mainstream industry. His show at the Rounhouse was enjoyable, almost 2 hours of good soul music, that proved the man can really sing it meaning it. His vocals are perfect and he’s a special talent in interacting with the audience. From the best tracks out of the new album – Love In The Future – to worldwide acclaimed hits like “Ordinary People”, “Green Light” or “Save Room”, Legend delivered a great performance supported by his two gorgeous and talented backup singers and an outstanding crew of musicians who saved us all from the poor performance of the supporting act Tamar Braxton.
